Can't wait to have Meiko Satomura on the main WWE roster, this just show how much history these women have and would be amazing to see them against each other again after a decade
The dislikes are fans that dont enjoy or vibe with the old school slow paced smash mouth style of this match. It pays respect back to 50s-70's wrestling, no high spots or over selling/theatrics just straight up raw tough as nails wrestling action

It's not 50s-70s, it's 1990s UWFi style that they are doing.
I remember when I heard Kana had signed to NXT looking for matches to see why I should even care, and to begin with I didn't see much, then I found this match here. This is one of my favorite technical wrestling matches I've ever seen. This was exactly what I was looking for back then when everything at the time (and still is) jumping through or off the ropes to the outside and a bunch of useless flips and twists. This was hard hitting, and a fantastic showing hold/counterhold and it's what I love most about watching wrestling.
All these years later I still can watch this match from start to finish and love it, and Asuka has become easily my favorite women's wrestler of all time and is even in my top 10 male or female of all time with the likes of Randy Savage, The Rock, Mr. Perfect, Kurt Angle, DDP, Jake the Snake, & Rowdy Roddy Piper.
KanaChan and Meiko are tough, tough ladies. Those strikes went hard in the paint. That was kind of uncomfortable but also amazing.
Both Meiko and Asuka are doing good in WWE. Maybe they’ll cross paths again in the company
Everything here looks so good and there's a logic behind it. Great selling. The pinfalls actually look like they're trying to keep the opponent's shoulders down. Good shit!
I was glued to the screen until the end, what an amazing match.
Kana is so fascinating. Tough as nails, and so intense it's like she's made of fire. Also, attractive beyond what words can describe.
Definitely a unique woman.
Uh, she's Japanese. They have that strong Bushido spirit. Not all Japanese girls are that cutesy, delicate, subserbiate or cosplay stereotype westerners envision or get all fetishy about. That's mainly a younger generation. Plus, Kana is Osakan. Osakans are known for being very fiery and bold. She's also part of that last generation of real female Japanese wrestlers who weren't models hired to wrestle (i.e. Kairi Sane). Wouldn't exactly call her unique except in the WWE. Her former partner Io Shirai had the same qualities as her...just skinnier.
I was captivated from the beginning to the end. Amazing match!!!

I can't imagine what it would have been like if these two would have faced each other in WWE today. It would have been a true instant classic. That is if WWE doesn't ruin the memory for everyone.
The kicks in this match are brutal but what stands out to me is the actual mat wrestling. It shows how well versed both are in all aspects of the game. Billy Robinson would be proud. In particular, at the 17:36 mark the move Meiko uses I have never seen ever and I have been watching since 1979. It seemed like just a made up move on the fly. Brilliant. With all due respect to Sherri Martel, Medusa Mecili, Mildred Burke, Charlotte, Judy Grable, etc.... this is another example, when listing the top 10 or so greatest women wrestlers of all time, that they all come from Japan.
On a side note, it is great to watch a match without that hand held camera zooming in and out and shaking all around that the WWE uses. I hate that crap. Gives me a headache.

Are some of their matches personal? Their encounters are always epic, but I never really see them like respecting each other. I see both Meiko and Kana respect other opponents, but never to one another.

Meiko satumura is part owner of the sendia girls group in Japan she will never sign. She may and have said would work with WWE again in see capacity (like myc). So maybe she will return in myc 3. That being said WWE doesn't wouldn't know how to use/book someone like meiko satumura. Even though Auska is champion now the messed her up by having her lose to (obvious).

I think if she had signed, she would have been booked better in NXT. The main roster is owned by Charlotte.. smh I think Asuka and Kairi should return to NXT and between them and Io, they can either have amazing matches or join up and reek havoc and the rest of the division.
